HEIDI MILLER
Owner/Graphic DesignerHeidi has been quilting (piecing) since 2001. She decided to give it a try when she was pregnant with her daughter. Her first class was with Marathon County 4-H and their Quilt Camp. Now she has the privilege of teaching the very same camp to young quilters.
Fast forward a few years after piecing her first quilt (which she still has), Heidi and her mom, Peg, decided to invest in a Gammill long-arm quilting machine and hasn't look back since! Heidi moved into her downtown studio in June 2016 and now has two machines and two employees.
In addition to quilting, Heidi also does quite a bit of graphic design work for local businesses. She enjoys taking old designs and reviving them into something new!
PEG CIHLAR
Mother Extoardinaire!Peg thought quilting was a crazy hobby, until she caught the bug! Similar to her daughter Heidi, she was exposed to quilting at 4-H quilt camp. Her plan was to make 1 quilt a year (yeah right!). In 2018 she managed to finish 18 PhDs (Projects Half Done)!
Today, you can find her at the studio on Thursdays, and the rest of the week she keeps herself busy with grandkids (12 of them), farm book work, yard work, and lots of sewing!
TERESA LOCKNANE
Associate/InstructorTeresa joined the Created Anew team in August 2022. Her personality and spunkiness has been a great addition!
Since joining the team, Teresa has published her first pattern Layered Crumb Cake! Teresa has also teaches our Collage Quilting classes, continues you find new ways to use up scraps and will always be ready to help you tackle your quilting projects!
JEAN BERGER
Associate/InstructorJean Berger is a lifelong sewist and quilter, who teaches programs in the fiber arts throughout Central Wisconsin. She enjoys all aspects of the genre including modern and traditional techniques; fabric painting; paper piecing; free motion quilting; etc. She is inspired to learn something new every day in the world of fiber!
Jean is Professor Emeritus of University of Wisconsin-Extension’s Department of Youth Development. Throughout her career her work focused on volunteer development; youth leadership; and organizational development. She and a colleague developed 4-H Quilt Camp which inspired youth and their adult mentors to develop skills and create quilted memories. The program was started in the “last century” and has continued for over 20 years! Today, Jean works part time and teaches classes in the studio (yep, she taught Peg & Heidi just about everything they know!) And let's be honest - she's way over qualified!
